Hello!

My name is Luke Maher. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Limerick City in Ireland’s scenic south-west. From the time that grandmother gifted me my first games console as a small child, I have been enamoured by gaming’s marriage of art and function, and the seemingly endless creative potential therein. This deep fascination served as the catalyst for my educational journey; a career honours student and regular project lead, I earned my degree in Computer Game Development from the University of Limerick, followed swiftly by a Master’s in Screenwriting from Trinity College Dublin.

As a games industry professional, I have had the privilege of working on multiple significant AAA projects, including PGA Tour 2K23 among others I cannot currently speak on owing to NDAs. I identify as a narrative specialist, passionate about balancing gameplay that supports the narrative with a narrative that meaningfully informs gameplay to produce novel and compelling experiences. I am able to achieve this through proficiency with industry-standard technologies and refined interactive storytelling expertise. This, alongside my documented competency in leadership positions, underlines my aptitude to upskill rapidly, adapt to changing requirements and excel towards my creative ambitions in the industry

Endlessly creatively driven, I have since my teens been producing software projects, written pieces, video editorials and musical tracks, self-taught in most aspects, to satiate my lust for expression. The aptitudes, soft, and hard skills I have developed from this, in concert with my degree-backed subject matter expertise, equip me profoundly well to excel in this industry as a highly competent and dependable narrative-oriented game design professional and vocal asset to any team.
