SIDE PROJECTS AND HOBBYIST ENDEVOURS

Over the sudden surplus of free time I found myself saddled with during Covid, I indulged in my passion for music and taught myself a few semesters worth of music theory and production using various online learning platforms. Applying these in experimentation on my own in Ableton Live, I have come up with a growing number of tracks that I have deemed to satisfy my creative standards.

A certain obsession during my early undergrad years, these reviews allowed me an outlet to combine my deep-seeded passions for game design, writing and video editing. Combining eloquently crass commentary with complex editing, the series failed to gain sufficient traction to justify lengthening production times. However, I still value every episode as a formative endeavor into creative direction.

An interest borne out of love for seminal micro-developed countercultural indie classics such as Cave Story and Yume Nikki, I have always been fascinated by the emotional force that pixel art can elicit. Consequently, I found myself interested in replicating the art style, self-teaching myself the fundamental techniques before applying them to produce several sprites, gifs and functional tilesets.

Staying active, I enjoy swimming, the gym and hiking. To relax, I play video games and TCGs, watch films, shows and anime and read books and manga. I follow a few eSports titles (CS:GO and SC2), and enjoy speedrunnning content. I like to socialise (dinner parties to festivals), meet people and travel, always open to new experiences and influences to my work. I have a new hyperfixation every week.
